Since it's double xp week, i'm finishing up my HR, but i'd like to have Rydia post his complete, or almost complete guide to leveling it up. I know the first post on gamefaqs, but from what he said, he's added/switched things around, so any help would be great.

This was my original post... I`ll put after what I have changed A few people have asked me to post my build via PM and threads so here it is. Keep in mind I have made this myself without referencing any other build. Therefore there are probably a few points which could be better spent to improve it, if you think it can be improved then please post and explain why as I`m happy to improve it if I can. 1st off I have chosen Wood Elf and taken the Pathfinder Path. At-Wills I use Rapid Shot and Aiming Shot, the latter is really only used when fighting Dragons or bosses with close range AOE that can 1 shot you. Aimed shot is also good at 1 shotting a lot of lesser enemies, plus the melee version can inflict bleed which is nice sometimes. For class features I run with Aspect of the Pack for the combat advantage bonus and Aspect of the Serpent. AotS is a must for me as it increases damage by quite a bit by stacking buffs on Melee when using ranged powers and vice versa. Dailies I run with Forest Ghost, this takes the heat off you whilst automatically striking enemies from stealth, also only 50% AP cost which is amazing. I tend to fire this off just before jumping in to melee a group of enemies. The other daily I use is from the Pathfinder tree, Slashers Mark, it does quite a large bit of damage whilst buffing other players who hit the target. I find the HR gains AP sooooo fast that you can fire off both these powers multiple times in a fight. For Encounter Powers I use Fox`s Cunning, this is amazing. It gives your whole team a free dodge when in ranged stance and the melee version is the nuts, it hits multiple enemies up to twice, I find using this just after AotS it does massive damage. Also the melee version increases your run speed while reducing the enemies. Also you can trigger other Abilities whilst in mid-animation and also fire off your At-Wills during the animation. Next Encounter is Hindering Shot, this is a must for the Trapper HR, it has 3 shots with separate cool down, plus Grasping Roots on both the ranged and melee versions. 3rd Encounter is Binding Arrow for the above reason (Grasping Roots), the melee version Oak Skin Heals your entire team and buffs their defences For Feats I have spent the Heroic Points like this : 3 Predatory action = 3% increased damage to Daily Powers 2 Weapon Mastery = 2% Crit Chance 2 Swift Footwork = 4% Stam regen 3 Agile Combatant = 3% more damage when switching stances 3 Endless Assault = 6% more damage from Encounter Powers 2 Natures Enhancement = 2% increased Deflect Severity when switching to melee 3 Disciple of Dexterity = 6% damage bonus from Dex 2 Extra Action = 4% extra AP gain All my points go into the Trapper tree as its just that good : 5 Readied Stance = 5% AP regen when switching stances 5 Deft Strikes = 10% extra damage for melee encounter after using ranged encounter and vice versa. Also for me this is a must for this build. 5 Ancient Roots = 2.5 seconds more for weak grasping roots, 5 seconds longer for strong grasping roots. 5 Swiftness of the Fox = 15% shorter cooldowns for the melee encounters when using ranged and vice versa. This is the best thing to put points in, you almost have no cooldown times when using all the encounters before switching. 5 Thorned Roots = Grasping roots now does 200% weapon damage to target every second, if they are immune to grasping roots it does 250% of weapon damage.... nuts 5 Serpents Bite = Aspect of the Serpent now does 5% more damage per stack + 2.5% crit chance per stack. 1 Biting Snares = When you apply grasping roots or thorned roots you gain biting snares. Biting snares causes your next stance shift to grant Master Trapper which generates 20% of your AP, increases your damage by 30% and increases your control durations by 60%, all for 10 seconds. This is the icing on the cake as the effect can trigger every 10 seconds whilst lasting 10 seconds. That is it... as I say it could probably be improved still.

I actually want to reroll my race and some of my Feat`s I want to change too, once I get to the point of being able to respec I`ll probably post a new version of my HR. I`m pretty sure I have some wasted points in feats like the AP gain etc.
I also possibly want to reroll my race... Half Orc gets another 5% Crit damage as a race perk, this sounds pretty sweet and possibly better than the Elf as that is just 1% Crit chance. Pity the Orcs are so ugly though lol.
I no longer run with Slashers Mark (I do switch over to it sometimes depending on how I feel). But now I use Siesmic Shot instead. Sometimes it hits like a truck when it crits, hits multiple targets and groups all the enemies up which can be nice when used just before Fox`s Shift to teleport into the group followed by Hindering Strike which is an AOE strong roots attack, just remember to dodge out of the group straight after Hindering Strike or you can get yourself killed lol.
My tactic these days is to go into a fight and hit : 1. Aiming Shot 2. Fox`s Cunning 3. <switch to melee> Oak Skin 4. <switch to ranged> Binding Shot and Siesmic Shot if AP is full 5. Hindering Shot 6. <switch to melee> Fox`s Shift 7. Hindering Strike 8. Oak Skin 9. <switch to ranged> Binding Shot 10. Hindering Shot 11. Fox`s Cunning 12. <switch to melee> and repeat steps 6-12 from now on
There is no real set place I use Forest Ghost and Siesmic Shot in the rotation, if Forest Ghost is usable it will get used when the cool down is ready, Siesmic Shot is used whenever AP is full.
As I`ve mentioned in another thread the build is better when used with a group of players, that way there are no cool down times when using the rotation above. When playing solo with an Augment its best to hold the Rapid Shot/Rapid Strike trigger whilst pressing the encounter buttons as there will be 2-3 seconds sometimes before the encounters are ready to use after the 1st rotation. If using a companion there is very little cool downs but sometimes 1-2 seconds. When playing with 2 or more people the cool downs are pretty much non-existant so you don't have to worry about holding down Rapid Shot as you can just spam Encounters for way more damage.
Hope that all makes sense lol.

Also when using my rotation with multiple people in the group just ignore what the game tells you on the cool down timers as the game cannot keep up. If you use Fox`s Cunning last in the Ranged rotation and switch to melee the game still shows cool downs on the melee encounters, this is false as you can still use the powers so spam away. Same goes for Oak Skin in the melee rotation, when used last and switch to ranged it will show cool downs which is also false so also spam away.
It is really easy to mess the rotations up and if this happens you can get into a bit of a muddle as I often do. If this is the case you might want to find and use Fox`s Cunning or Oak Skin (which-ever one is not on cool down) then immediately switch stances, this should reset the opposite encounters and you can get yourself back into a pattern.

If you like I can see about making a couple of vids on my xbox so you can see my rotations rather than just read it. I`ll see about maybe recording a couple tonight as I figured out how to make my xbox record the last 5mins of gaming now lol

I'd like that, since I only really use the ranged stuffed, and melee when i'm in a pickle.
That and i'm so used to just 3-4 encounters (CW is my main, and DC is my second) so 3 extra encounters will make my mind melt.

Coming from archer spec to trapper spec will take a bit to get used to. I like so many started just archer. Looking at the trapper tree, it looks like nothing, and boring. But its the most synergistic tree when it all comes together. It will triple your DPS after a couple weeks of getting your timing down. That's the hardest part of the build is the timing. You have to slow it down a bit on single targets. But if you are facing multiple mobs, let the buttons fly cause nothing is on cool down and you are nearly invincible.

Yeah, I personally think its better to go pure Archery until you hit level 60 and then repec into the Trapper tree as that is what I did.
I have made a short clip on my XBL profile if people want to have a look, I tried to record the whole Shores run but for some reason it only recorded from halfway through the Ambush part, I`ll try to record a couple more at some point. It just shows the rotation I use and if the rotation messes up on occasion what I do to get it flowing again.

Ah ha.. I use a slightly different encounter set. After watching the video I notice you use Hindering Shot with the 3 charges.. I use Constricting arrow, Binding arrow and of course Fox Cunning.
I'll see how it rolls with Hindering shot later.

Hindering Shot is great as it gets 3 shots each with their own cool down and they do weak grasping roots. The melee version is one of the best skills the Trapper has, as its an AoE attack inflicting strong grasping roots, which the Trapper excels at I`m not a fan of Constricting Arrow but a lot of Rangers are. I think your loosing out by using Steel Breeze as it does not inflict root damage (it just restores stamina which can be handy depending on the fight). For instance Steel Breeze is good when taking off 1 of the 2 scorpions by yourself in Epic LoL. Otherwise I don't really find a lack of Stamina much of an issue.

I posted another video of the 1st part of Shores earlier, not sure if it can be viewed yet but I just watched it on my profile.
Funnily enough it was with a PUG group and I did not notice at the time but there is another Guild member in the group... Garrett. Weird as last night ran with 3 Guildies in Epic LoL and picked up a random who happened to be Garrett as well lol.

I've switched Hindering shot in now and will test it out over the next few days. I am a little concerned about the 2 second charge time before she loses the arrow.
Last night I sold my plaguefire and bought her a lesser vorpal, that should improve the damage.
As for defensive stats, I understand from several forums that Deflect is the most important one for HR...
do you agree?

Nope, I stacked Deflect instead of Defence and it was pants... still get 1 shotted so it was a bit pointless. I traded out all my Deflect Runes for Defence ones instead and just had the 1 deflect rune still, also I get quite a bit of deflect from equipping 2 pieces of Draconic Gear. There is no charge time before shooting the arrow I`m not sure where you got that from, its pretty much almost instant

Hahaha! You sure drove your point home.
So hopefully I'll get some draconic stuff to drop from Shores, I do have the grand warden armour so I'm 1/4 of the way there! I haven't equipped it yet as I still need the 400 bonuses from the 2x2 T1 sets I'm wearing.
How on earth did you get Crit so high without using the set bonus?!

434 from Grand Warden Armour 279 from GW Bracers 267 from Bow - needs upgrading to purple 150 from Drac Ring of the Shore 178 from Dex Belt - needs upgrading to purple 68 from Blue Shirt - needs upgrading to purple Allure has : 138 + 185 from Ring of Pain 181 from Necklace of Suffering 150 from Greater Icon of Blue Fire = 817 then I have Eldritch Rune for another 8.5% stats given to me Yeah I needed to put my point across last night, Sanctus is a nice enough bloke but he has said to people a few times what they should do and given numbers that are false. I really wish when people say this is better or that is better then they back it up with facts and not just what they may or may not have read on some other website

You sure get a lot of that on Gamefaqs, a lot of piss & wind.
I see, I'll follow that equipment build if you don't mind.. So you have draconic gloves and feet right?

I'm doing my best to learn your ways of your rotation and moves, I SORTA have it locked down, but I do fox cunning, hindering shot the next one, then I switch to melee and to oak skin, the next locked vines move and then foxes attack and do it all over again. I need to get recovery up, but even it being under 1k, I switch back to ranged and it's all back up and I can work it all over again. Did good on my first runs on temple and spell, just need to get my armor set
