1st off I have chosen Half Orc and taken the Pathfinder Path. At-Wills I use Rapid Shot and Aimed Shot. Aimed shot is good at 1 shotting a lot of lesser enemies, plus the melee version can inflict bleed which is very nice sometimes. I actually use the bow (Golden Dragon`s Smile) which increases my run speed after an Aimed Shot so I start off most fights with it, the bow also increases Aimed Strike damage. For class features I run with Aspect of the Pack for the combat advantage bonus and Aspect of the Serpent. AotS is a must for me as it increases damage by quite a bit by stacking buffs on Melee when using ranged powers and vice versa. I also take the Off-Hand Class Feature which increases AotS even further and the Off-Hand Stat Increase is +391 Combat Advantage. Dailies I run with are Slashers Mark, it does quite a large bit of damage whilst buffing other players who hit the target. It is actually really useful when you dodge a lot against certain enemies like LoL Scorpions or LoL boss himself. The other daily I use is Seismic Shot, hits really well when a crit and buffed up with AotS. Both of these Daily powers should be used at the start of a rotation (just after switching stances) to maximise all the buffs they get, if you are in ranged stance use Seismic Shot, if at the start of a melee rotation then use Slasher`s Mark. For Encounter Powers I use Fox`s Cunning, this is amazing. It gives your whole team a free dodge when in ranged stance and the melee version is the nuts, it hits multiple enemies multiple times. Also the melee version increases your run speed while reducing the enemies. Also you can trigger other Abilities whilst in mid-animation and also fire off your At-Wills during the animation. Next Encounter is Hindering Shot, this is a must for my Trapper HR, it has 3 shots with separate cool down, plus Grasping Roots on both the ranged and melee versions. The melee version is Strong Grasping Roots which this class excels at. 3rd Encounter is Binding Arrow for the above reason (Grasping Roots), the melee version Oak Skin Heals your entire team and buffs their defences. Now if you are running in a group then using Oak skin will pretty much reset your ranged encounter powers, same with Fox`s Cunning when used in a group will pretty much reset your ranged encounter powers. For Feats I have spent the Heroic Points like this : 5 Predatory action = 5% increased damage to Daily Powers 3 Weapon Mastery = 3% Crit Chance 3 Toughness = 9% more HP (now Draconic Templar armour is out this is worth it) 3 Agile Combatant = 3% more damage when switching stances 3 Endless Assault = 6% more damage from Encounter Powers 3 Disciple of Dexterity = 6% damage bonus from Dex All my points go into the Trapper tree as its just that good : 5 Readied Stance = 5% AP regen when switching stances 5 Deft Strikes = 10% extra damage for melee encounter after using ranged encounter and vice versa. Also for me this is a must for this build. 5 Ancient Roots = 2.5 seconds more for weak grasping roots, 5 seconds longer for strong grasping roots. 5 Swiftness of the Fox = 15% shorter cooldowns for the melee encounters when using ranged and vice versa. This is the best thing to put points in, you almost have no cooldown times when using all the encounters before switching. 5 Thorned Roots = Grasping roots now does 200% weapon damage to target every second, if they are immune to grasping roots it does 250% of weapon damage.... nuts 5 Serpents Bite = Aspect of the Serpent now does 5% more damage per stack + 2.5% crit chance per stack.

1 Biting Snares = When you apply grasping roots or thorned roots you gain biting snares. Biting snares causes your next stance shift to grant Master Trapper which generates 20% of your AP, increases your damage by 30% and increases your control durations by 60%, all for 10 seconds. This is the icing on the cake as the effect can trigger every 10 seconds whilst lasting 10 seconds.
My rotation if fighting in a group against normal mobs :
1. Aiming Shot 2. Fox`s Cunning 3. <switch to melee> Oak Skin 4. <switch to ranged> Binding Shot and Siesmic Shot if AP is full 5. Hindering Shot 6. <switch to melee> Fox`s Shift and Slasher`s Mark if AP is full 7. Hindering Strike 8. Oak Skin 9. <switch to ranged> Binding Shot 10. Hindering Shot 11. Fox`s Cunning 12. <switch to melee> and repeat steps 6-12 from now on
My rotation if fighting a large enemy or boss of some type in a group, or if I am running solo with no companion :
1. Aiming Shot 2. Fox`s Cunning 3. <switch to melee> Oak Skin 4. <switch to ranged> Binding Shot and Siesmic Shot if AP is full 5. Hindering Shot 6. <switch to melee> Aimed Strike 7. Fox`s Shift and Slasher`s Mark if AP is full 8. Hindering Strike 9. Oak Skin 10. <switch to ranged> Binding Shot 11. Hindering Shot 12. Fox`s Cunning 13. <switch to melee> and repeat steps 6-13 from now on
I have noticed that when using Aspect of the Serpent for buffs it is actually only useful at certain times. The way I run my rotation I hold the trigger button (Rapid Shot/Strike) only during the melee sequence. As soon as I switch from ranged to melee I use an Aimed Strike (buffed up due to AotS) and then Fox`s Shift, Fox`s Shift will remove all stacks of AotS even if its full and replaces it with an AotS ranged version. As soon as I start Fox`s Shift I will hold the Rapid Shot Triggerbutton until my full sequence of melee encounters is over.
This way I get lots of extra hits in during my melee sequence, this benefit does not work for the ranged sequence so it is not worth holding the rapid fire trigger during the ranged rotation. Hindering Shot and Binding Shot both benefit from AotS fully in the ranged rotation.
Ok boons is easy, 200 Power, 200 Crit, 200 Defence, 200 Life Steel and then 5% Crit Severity and 10% Control Bonus (7th boon whatever you please).
Equipment : Drac Temp Helm + Utility slot + Overload Slot Drac Temp Chest + Azure Rank 7 + Lesser Soulforged Drac Temp Bracers + Utility slot + Overload Slot Drac Temp Boots + Utility Slot
Imperial Dragon Cloak + Utility Slot Personalized Archmage`s Ring + (Off) Dark Rank 7 + (Def) Silvery Rank 7 Personalized Hero`s Ring + (Off) Radiant Rank 7 + (Def) Azure Rank 7 Imperial Waistband of Honor + Utility Slot Gemmed Exquisite Shirt + Greater Tenebrous = 3% extra damage as Necrotic damage (my HP is always full) Gemmed Exquisite Trousers + Azure Rank 7
This gives me the full set of Imperial for the set bonus.
Companions I currently have : Elf = 105 Power and 105 Crit Slyblade Kobold = 3% extra damage to rooted or stunned enemies Mage = 15% Control bonus Panther = 10% extra damage to prone targets Stone of Allure = 7% chance to slow enemies on encounter use
My stone is equipped with 2 Lesser Bonding Runestones and a Rank 8 Eldritch Rune (9% extra stats sent over). Also a Personalized Archmage`s Ring with R7 Radiant + R7 Dark, Personalized Archmage`s Necklace with R7 Radiant + R7 Dark. Lastly a Greater Icon of Blue Fire with R7 Radiant.

So stone sends over :
370 Lifesteal 298 Recovery 475 Arm Pen 585 Crit 1623 Power Plus the 9% from Eldritch
This all gives my character :
17.5 GS 27,340 HP 19 STR 12 CON 26 DEX 10 INT 20 WIS 12 CHA
Power = 6850 Crit = 3874 Arm Pen = 1785 (18.4% + 9% from STR) Recovery = 1929 AP gain = 150 Combat Advantage Bonus 647 (6.9%) Control Bonus = 0 Defense = 1845 Deflect = 1303 Regen = 481 Life Steal = 1119
Attack/Healing 11,390 Crit Chance 40% Crit Severity = 85.2% + Greater Vorpal (38%)
Ooooh and for weapons I use Golden Dragons Smile bow for the extra damage for Aimed Strike and faster movement after Aimed Shot. It also increases base melee damage by 20. This is equipped with a Greater Vorpal for crit severity. Off-Hand is mentioned at the top of my thread, I use the AotS feat bonus and combat advantage bonus stat.
All my equipement is purple, nothing is Orange.
The 3 Artifacts I use are Lantern for the extra combat advantage, Rod of Imperial Restrant for the set and control bonus (when I get it purple) and Heart of the Red Dragon for the power (which will get changed when I get a better artefact).
Anyhoo that is it if you have any questions please ask.

Thank you! Your original build thread has helped me so much and I'm sure this one will too. I go back and forth between constricting shot and oak skin, because I just can't see if Oak Skin is buffing the team (and I do prefer to play a support role). I do like the way it reduces cool downs, but rotations aren't much of an issue with either.
Question - what is your Strategy for Tiamat? I sometimes use Slasher's Mark on a Head, and it's scary to almost go sailing over the edge when you jump up to smack it.

I just prefer Oak Skin as I very rarely have to use any type of potion, Oak Skin will pretty much heal half my health every time I use it (over time), as I am spamming 6 Encounters every 2-3 seconds it is pretty much perm regen and healing, this effect goes onto other players but at a lesser effect. It does not really amount to much but I have come out of dungeons with over 2mil healing which is not bad for a HR But as I say I mainly use it for the cool down reduction whilst in a group, any power that effects multiple people reduces a HR`s cooldowns even more than usual. There are other melee powers which effect the whole group but I find them a lot less useful than Oak Skin, usually because either the Ranged or Melee version of the power has too long a charge up time, also the Ranged version of Oak Skin is a Strong Grasping Roots Ranged Attack. This is useful as it means my build gets 1 ranged and 1 melee Strong Grasping Roots attack (both Aoe), 1 ranged Weak Grasping Roots attack, 2 party wide buffs (a free dodge and healing/regen/defence buff) and Fox`s Shift which as we all know is an amazing skill It also gets 1 ranged Daily power and 1 melee Daily power. It is a nice all round build I think which dishes out massive DPS whilst self healing at the same time and party buffing. Now depending on what Runes you decide to go with can make this build even more DPS or even more party buffing there is actually quite a lot of choice, as well as paths to chose for this class, I`m wanting to try out Storm Warden again as I want to test out DPS against Pathfinder, just would have to go without Slashers Mark and I love that skill. As for Tiamat there is not set routine, its exactly the same as option 2 in my 1st post, the one with 13 steps in my rotation. It is pretty funny Slashers Mark has sent me off the cliff to my doom against Tiamat... Oh yeah and never use it against the Spellplague boss ha ha I forgot to mention, I now found a use for the Tenebrous Rune, as I use Oak Skin my health is 95% of the time at maximum and if it does go down its back up again very quickly, this rune works really well with Oak Skin due to always having max health, in turn more HP means more damage so the Draconic Templar Set and a Hero item to boost your HP not only helps keep you alive but actually increases the DPS

I have done a short video clip on my Xbox profile if anyone is interested, it just shows off the rotation I use (going through the Portal Map) and at the end I scroll through all my stats and equipment at the moment

Very nice James, reading this is making me want to play again!!!
I might pop on sometime over the weekend, I figure I can at least upgrade some gear as the 'old' stuff will be easy pickings on the AH...
My question is regarding the Cat. Because the stone isn't a separate companion and the Cat is, it can actually be killed in combat, do you then lose the effects granted?

Thanks, that's very much appreciated. However, I'll just be popping on to run some T2's and stuff. I miss the game a lot, not to mention you all here. ESO has me by the balls though, I cannot guarantee permanent activity lol.

I love mine! She has only died once and that was when I did some an incredible falling leap over a cliff - so we both shook it off and were soon reborn (cat must be resummoned).

Ah I probably have my xbox set to certain family preferences as my son also uses it on occasion. I`ll have a look when I am online later and I should be able to set the settings for my profile clips to be seen On a different note I did not think the Cat can be killed, I mean it has no Health bar and is an Augment Companion.

Thanks, cabbag3.
In my experience, it is very rare for the cat to die - I have only had it happen the one time. I was worried because others said it does, but this isn't something I would be concerned about.

Thanks, WDJ40! I got a retraining token and set mine up with your build. I'm still getting the hang of how you do things so I can see what might suit my style better. Your steps here do tons more damage than what I was doing before. Thanks for the guidance!

Wow. I used one before to go Stormwarden, I'd been following KatoZee's guide but am thinking of finally following yours.
Though, there are an awful lot of HR's these days! I might stick to my current.

Will this build be okay for the Mod 6 re-spec? I use a basic variation of it now, so if it is still going to be good, mine should still work.

I have no idea dude mod 6 is not out yet I have no idea what to expect (powers wise) and will am really looking forward to testing things out.... I imagine I will start off by dropping power and raising Arm Pen as much as I can, new cap is going to be 60% which is a lot!

Well 1st things 1st, without changing anything on my build for some reason since EE came out I feel like it is even more powerful.
I kept everything the same and just bought and equipped the new LV61 armour from the Well of Dragons. Also levelled my companions and cat up to their new max.
My power was over 9k and Arm Pen just under 3k which showed it totalled 54%, then 10% from Strength so over the new cap before doing anything. My crit took a massive hit though and its down from 40% to 35%.
I have not actually tested anything yet, been doing a few quests and working things out. I have not tried any of the new powers but everything in my current build feels like it had a buff. Even Oak Skin is healing me over 800 a tick now... Life Steal is at 10% so with so many attacks from the HR powers is procs all the time

Wilford feels like he's been nerfed, but he doesn't have the new armor yet. Hopefully, that will help.

I loaded the new armor set and have been running some quests solo without issue so far. I haven't looked at my actual specs but need to later today. It's nice to have new quests and new things to look at. I decided that I am going to take it easy and enjoy my time leveling up to 70, instead of how I played leveling up to 60 as fast as possible.

I have to say the HR feels pretty powerful still so I am happy with that, getting some really good damage numbers on the new enemies playing on my own with my Cat. I`m looking forward to testing out the new powers when I have levelled up, also the Boons appeared to have doubled as well as the Runes have had a stat boost. The Boons for ToD are 400 instead of 200 now. All the equipment with Rank 7 Runes in have had their stats boosted by 30 each, so 230 Power instead of 200 I think it was. There are also some new Paragon Feats in the Trapper tree to test out I actually really want to test out Stormwarden again as they have buffed the Daily by 20%. I also want to test out a lower crit higher power build with a Lightning Enchant instead of a Vorpal.

Granted I'm still just wandering around the first zone stumbling through what seems like the same cave over and over and completing the odd heroic here and there but Trappers seem to be doing just fine this mod which is a relief given all the doom and gloom over on the official boards.
In fact I popped over to Well of Dragons just to try things out and honestly was murdering mobs as quickly as ever.
Only difference was when they actually connected with me, it hurt. A lot. But nothing some more hp/defense and/or a good healer couldn't solve straight away.
Thus far I feel like we're in a great spot in Mod6 where our old bag of tricks is just as fun and effective as ever but now we have new toys to play and experiment with! Can't wait to dig deeper and see what new combos are yet undiscovered in the class.
Go Go Team Treehugger!

Simon, Kevian, Angie, and Sylence (our newest guild mate, who was a random in WoD when we blew threw) helped me knock out the Reclaiming the Horde mission, so I was able to get enough dragon fangs to get the last piece of armor. After gearing up, Wilford is a lot less squishy than before, though, like Styx says, they hurt when they hit you.
