This probably gonna be long so I'll have a TL/DR at the end haha
So I just made my first student debt payment. It got me wondering if Its all really worth it. I'm 24 so I'm looking for hopefully someone more experienced in the workforce and life in general and wise to tell me it will eventually be worth it (or not.) After making the payment I don't really think its worth it and I'm not seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.
Im 24 and 26k in debt, well more like 35k once the interest is added. Doesn't seem worth it
I have my Associates degree and I'm taking last class for Bachelors of Accountancy next month. Unfortunetly after going through this i doubt ill go for CPA. I suck at exams
People at my current job are making more than me without any further education. A friend from my last job just transfered from a sister company and he's already $1.50/hr more than me. He isn't even going to college. The 2 higher end people in my department didn't go to college and seem to be doing good. The one just went on an Alaskan Cruise (granted her husband could of been the one with the money but he's retired). The girl I sit next to is 22 and no college.
I just don't see it ever being worth this much debt in the long run. And people without degrees making the same and more
Everyone in my family tells me its worth it cause none of them went. Cant really talk to amy of them about this. I grew up basically poor-ish? We lived pay check to check. Never any extra money. Never went on a vacation. Never bought nice things. We lived week to week. Payday, pay bills, grocery shop with what's left, and repeat.
I'm really tight when it comes to money because of that. Maybe that is why I don't feel like college was worth it?
I'm 24 and live with my dad. There is absolutely no way I can afford an apartment and move out. Now I'm adding all this student debt on top of it. Just doesn't seem worth it.
If anyone actually read that all, Thank you. Had to vent a little.
TL/DR: Is going to college and forever being in debt and living at home really worth it?
