Good morning!
The class specs threads are a great place to start building, giving us a solid base to build on, and, in that spirit, I've got a special request for a new board in the forum.
Could we have a specific group on "Gameplay," which would cover more significant and detailed topics that probably don't belong in general or other boards?
For example, one thread in Gameplay could be "Refining."
Until last week, I wasn't really paying the attention to refining that I should. However, after reading in the wiki and the Neverwinter forums, I got some clues that lead me further - now (with some help from Gaagii at the end), I've gotten everything upgraded to at least blue. Some early advice, like "focus on getting your enchants to a minimum of level X" or "the quality of the equipment your companion has can give you a decent buff" or even "the refining stones you pick up should go into your artifacts to maximize their value - refine main hand/off hand/belt/whatever artifact first, then this one, then this one" and so on.
Another topic of interest to newer players would be a "Companions" thread. A couple of weekends ago, Styx recommended that I get an augment companion. I didn't have a lot of choices, due to what I could afford to get off of AH, but it was still a great tip and I just got the one I could afford. What was especially interesting, though, was listening to him and other players discuss upcomiung companions, selecting the right rune stones and gear, the right enchantments for their gear, and so on.
"Professions" would make a great thread. Right now, we have a board that covers what you cna make for others or what you might need someone to make for you. What would be great would be a primer on what is easy to level up, what is hard, and what you can do to streamline your process. Maybe even what you should aim for with your professions (you can make significant improvements to your equipment with professions - you see short discussions and hints of this everywhere - example - gotwe.boards.net/thread/504/gemed-ring-crafting?page=1&scrollTo=5038).
Until a conversation I had with Styx and Angie, I thought professions were just a way to get Astral Diamonds and chests (Leadership). I wish I'd started with other crafts first!
Each of you has stored away a ton of information you've learned from experience that, if shared, would be 10 times more valuable than anything shared out of the guild vault. Like sharing equipment, it would help make us much more capable of helping you tackle the harder parts of the game, without you carrying us so much.
Thank you for your time!
